Scripture Reading
Revelation 21:1–5 (NIV)
“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away… He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain… He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’”
From the opening chapters of Genesis to the final pages of Revelation, Scripture is threaded with a single, luminous promise: God is restoring what was broken and renewing what was lost.
Hope in the Bible is not wishful thinking; it is a confident expectation built on God’s character — a God who keeps His covenants, fulfills His promises, and completes what He begins.

How the Thread of Hope Weaves Through Scripture
- In the garden, after the fall, God immediately speaks hope (Genesis 3:15).
- In the wilderness, He promises His people a land of rest (Deuteronomy 30:1–6).
- Through the prophets, He declares that exile is not the end (Jeremiah 29:11–14).
- Through Jesus, He ushers in a kingdom that cannot be shaken (Luke 4:18–21).
- Through the Spirit, He seals us for the life to come (Ephesians 1:13–14).
And in Revelation, the final thread is tied: every sorrow healed, every injustice undone, every longing fulfilled.
The God who spoke “Let there be light” in Genesis now speaks “Behold, I make all things new.” The story ends where it began — with God dwelling with His people — but this time, nothing can separate us again.
Hope is not merely a future home; it is the present power to endure, persevere, and trust that God is at work in every hidden place of our lives.
If these devotionals are helping you see Scripture as one unified story pointing to Jesus, the full Biblical Threads 12-Week Course dives even deeper — through themes, timelines, reflection prompts, and guided study. But for now, simply let this truth settle into your heart:
Your story is held by a God who finishes what He starts.
Closing Prayer
Father,
Thank You for being the God of ultimate restoration. When our vision grows dim and our hearts grow heavy, remind us that a future has already been secured for us — one filled with Your presence, Your peace, and Your glory. Help us to hold onto Your promises with courage and joy. Strengthen us with the hope that You are making all things new, even when we cannot yet see it.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflection Questions
- Where in your life do you most long for God’s renewal?
- How does knowing the end of the story shape your hope today?
- What promise of God helps anchor you when hope feels thin?
