There are seasons when faith feels vibrant and close — and seasons when it feels quiet, distant, or dry.
Feeling spiritually dry does not mean you have failed or that God has withdrawn from you. It often means you are being invited to rest, to return, and to be renewed.
If this is where you are today, come just as you are. God is near, even when He feels silent.
“He restoreth my soul.” — Psalm 23:3 (KJV)
The Prayer
Gracious Father,
I come before You weary and honest.
There are moments when my heart feels dry, my prayers feel empty, and my passion for spiritual things feels distant. I confess that I don’t always understand why these seasons come — but I trust that You are still with me.
Lord, You see what I cannot put into words.
You know the heaviness, the distraction, the discouragement, and the quiet longing beneath the surface. Even when I feel far from You, Your Word reminds me that You have not moved away from me.
Your Word says that You restore the soul, and today I need that restoration.
Refresh what feels worn down.
Revive what feels weak.
Renew what feels empty.
Jesus, I come to You just as You invited — weary and burdened — trusting that You give rest. I do not come with perfect faith or polished prayers. I come because I need You.
Holy Spirit, breathe new life into my heart.
Where there has been dryness, bring living water.
Where there has been silence, bring gentle assurance.
Where there has been discouragement, bring quiet hope.
Help me return to simple faith — not striving, not forcing emotion, but trusting You one step at a time. Teach me to seek You again in Your Word, even when it feels difficult. Teach me to pray again, even when my words feel few.
Lord, guard my heart from believing that dryness means distance or failure. Remind me that growth often happens beneath the surface, unseen and unnoticed. Help me wait patiently for You, knowing that You renew strength in Your perfect timing.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Restore the joy of knowing You — not through feelings alone, but through steady trust in Your faithfulness.
I surrender this season to You. I trust that You are still at work, even here. And I believe that You will bring renewal, refreshment, and peace in the way and time You know is best.
Closing Blessing
Father, refresh my soul as only You can.
Lead me beside still waters.
Restore my strength.
And renew my heart with quiet confidence in Your unfailing love.
I place my hope in You, trusting that You make all things new.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
